Michael L. Pedersen died May 26 at Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas.
Mike was a recent resident of the Douglas Care Center. Mike had been a resident of Guernsey for the last four years.
Mike was born in Los Angeles, Calif. Most of his youth was spent in Blair, Neb.
In September 1970, Mike married Becky Bauserman. They divorced after 15 years but remained close and stayed friends for life.
For the last 50 years or so, Mike sold furniture in Omaha, Des Moines, Las Vegas, Tucson and Phoenix. Mostly the last 25 years in Scottsdale, Arizona at the “Room Store.”
In a lot of places, Mike was called, “Pete.”
Mike was an avid golfer, sometimes playing in pro/amateur charity tournaments. He loved cooking, movies, reading and traveling to Mexico, South America, Africa and other places while in the Army in Germany.
Mike had many friends from work and the people who bought furniture and had fun working on cars with his pal, Bill Austin.
One of the most important things was how Mike felt about the people of Guernsey. Mike thought everyone was great. The ladies at First State Bank and the people at the Library, Senior Center, Guernsey Super-Foods, and everyone met on his walks around town. Mike was a great salesman because he loved all people.
Mike was preceded in death by both parents and one sister. Mike is survived by his sister, Marilyn “Jo” Buhr and his brother, Micky “Mick” Pedersen of Wheatland.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
