Ron was born on Sunday, July 10, 1938 in Palisade, Nebraska to Ed and Wauneta (Monroe) Bristow. He grew up in Montana before moving to Guernsey and graduating as a Guernsey Longhorn.  There he met his wife Sue and they married in Hartville on February 12, 1961, traveling to Montana for their honeymoon.

Ron also enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and traveling.  His family and friends remember the many jokes and one-liners he told, he was also quite the prankster, and was so much fun to be around.

In their later years Ron and Sue traveled to Yuma, Arizona to spend winters in the sun, where they made many new friends who they stayed in touch with throughout the years.

Ron served as a supply clerk for the Army National Guard for 43 years, beginning in February, 1956.  He retired as a 1st Sergeant E8 in 1998, after receiving many military medals.

Ron was very active in the community and served as part of the Mason’s (Past Master Lodge #49), Guernsey Lions Club (Past President), Guernsey-Sunrise School Board, Board of the Guernsey Community Credit Union, and a member of the Volunteer Fire Department, serving as an EMT and driver.

He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Wauneta (Monroe) Bristow; his in-laws, Donald and Rita Troudt; and his brothers-in-law, Frank and Gary Troudt.
