A funeral service for Johnny N. Scott, 85, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the United Presbyterian Church in Guernsey, Wyoming with Pastor John Taylor officiating.  Inurnment will be held at the Prairie Rest Cemetery near Guernsey.

Johnny Scott passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Douglas Care Center in Douglas, Wyoming.

Johnny was born December 15, 1932 in Wheatland, Wyoming the son of Robert and Rose (Mondragon) Scott.

Johnny was reared and educated in Wheatland and graduated from Wheatland High School in 1952.   Johnny married Nina Eileen See on May 23, 1953 in Guernsey, and to this union three children were born.

After graduation, he worked for Platte Equipment Company.  Johnny went to work for Walthall Chevrolet when he started his career in selling cars.  When the family moved to Douglas in 1975, he went to work for Dean Gulley Motors. They then moved back to Wheatland in 1992 and he started working for Bob Ruwart Motors until 2006 when he retired. They moved to Guernsey in 2010. 

Some of Johnny’s hobbies included listening and playing music; he loved to visit with anybody that would visit with him; cars, flying, traveling, and most of all. spending time with his grandsons.

Johnny is survived by his children, Dixie (Terry) Bartow of Guernsey and Leon (Debbie) Scott of Reno, NV; siblings, Louise Roberts of Wheatland, Margaret “Maggie” (Herb) Hatley of Donna, TX; Deloris Andreen of Guernsey, Darlene (Rex) Arnold of Cheyenne; Patty Johnke of Wheatland, and Georgia “Toots” (Warren) Grimes of Ramona, OK; grandsons, Philip (Krystal) Bartow of Eads, CO; Jonathan Bartow of Cheyenne, and Terryl Bartow of Spearfish, SD.

He was preceded in death by his wife Nina Eileen Scott on November 27, 2012; son, Ronald Dean Scott on October 4, 1991; sister, Betty James on March 30, 2018; and brother, Tom Scott.

A memorial to the Johnny Scott Music Memorial Fund in Care of First State Bank, PO Box 879, Guernsey, Wyoming 82214 to go towards the Platte County School District #1 and the Platte County School District #2 music programs.  The funds will be split between the two programs.The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
