Vikes to hit Wheatland, Glenrock, Scottsbluff meets

MITCHELL—It’s raining.  It’s freezing. It’s snowing. It must be track season in Wyoming.  Finally getting a meet in last week, the Guernsey-Sunrise Viking team had two members make top six finishes at the Mitchell Invitational last Thursday.

Whitney Martin had the top individual finish in the meet for the Vikes with a third place in the 100 Meter Dash, clocking a 27.83.  She also took part in the Long Jump (14’1.5”), Triple Jump (27’7”) and the Discus (76’10”).     

Roy Mote picked up sixth place in the Shot Put with a distance of 41’8”.  He also competed in the Long Jump (17’0”) and the Triple Jump (38’2.5”). 

Also competing for the Vikings but not placing were:

Katrina Christensen:  100 Meter Dash-19.18

Kassidy Morales:  Long Jump-10’5”

Shaylee Niles:  Long Jump-10’2”

Bailey Martin:  Shot Put-30’11”

Trinity Ayers:  Shot Put-26’4.25”; Discus-69’11”

Macy Mote:  Shot Put-25’5.25”; Discus-86’9”

Justin Malcom:  100 Meter Dash-13.22; 400 Meter Dash-1:03.04

Austin Albrecht:  400 Meter Dash-55.94

Brandon Miller:  800 Meter Run-2:59.09; 3200 Meter Run-13:15.95

Tate Stoneking:  Long Jump-16’0”; Triple Jump-36’4”

It will be an extra busy week this week as the Vikes attend three meets.  On Wednesday, they’ll head to Wheatland to make up the meet missed on April 7th due to bad weather.  Events begin at 9 a.m. 

They’ll be in Glenrock on Friday for the Herder’s Invitational.  The events begin at 1 p.m.

On Saturday, they’ll head to Scottsbluff’s Bearcat Stadium for the Alliance Invitational.  Events begin at 9 a.m.
