GUERNSEY—Winners have been announced in the Trunk or Treat costume and vehicles contests sponsored by Tri-City Parks and Rec. Winners were selected by votes from the Trunk or Treat participants and winners received gift certificates from Pin City Bowling.
Winners include:
CUTEST: Makenna Lewis
Costume: Scarecrow
MOST CREATIVE: Kamlee Collar
Costume: “Rosie” the maid from the ‘60s cartoon “The Jetsons”
FUNNIEST: Jaxon Lockman
Costume: Alien Captures Human
SPOOKIEST: Jordan Mueller
Costume: “Chucky” the serial killer doll from “Childs Play”
BEST DUO OR GROUP: David and Ciara Salazar family
Costume: “The Addams Family”
OVERALL FAVORITE: J. T. Krieshel
Costume: Carl Fredricksen, the “Little Old Man” from the movie “Up”
Vehicle winners from Trunk or Treat included:
FIRST: Wyoming Child and Family Haunted Bus ($50 gift certificate to Ben’s)
SECOND: Old McDonald’s Farm Animals in the Red Mustang--Gary and Maxine Lewis family; ($35 gift certificate to Twister’s)
THIRD: USAF Bearcat Vehicle and Superman ($25 gift certificate to Twister’s)
Trunk or Treat is a feature that was added to the Guernsey Halloween celebration several years ago and has become a big hit with kids and parents alike.
In addition to Guernsey merchants who choose to participate by handing out treats for 90 minutes on the afternoon of Halloween, anyone who would like to bring a vehicle to the downtown area and hand out treats. Decorating and dressing up is optional for the participants.
This year, a total of 12 vehicles registered and set up between the Gordon Davis Park and the Senior Center. Nine of them decorated and/or dressed in costume to receive votes in the contest.
All prizes were provided by Tri-City Parks and Rec.
