WHEATLAND – The Platte County Chamber of Commerce sponsored a pancake breakfast on the lawn of the courthouse July 31 which was a pre-parade meal.
“It was great,” said Chamber director Shawna Reichert. “We had a lot of fun even though we had a little bit of rain and we fed over 450 people breakfast.”
The breakfast consisted of blueberry, chocolate or plain pancakes with a special vanilla ingredient according to Reichert.
Reichert’s husband, Troy was manning the griddle and explained that he was “simply doing his wife’s bidding.”
This is a member sponsored event and most members receive a bill on their annual statement for $40 that goes specifically for the pancake breakfast.
