Planning for Halloween in final stages

GUERNSEY—Across the nation, Halloween has become one of the biggest holidays for kids and adults alike, anticipating escaping the norm and becoming their fantasy creature or person for a few hours.
This year, Trunk or Treat will change locations and time but Treat Street will remain throughout the business district.
Treat Street runs from 3:30 -5 p.m. at all designated merchants—watch for identifying signs posted in their window.
Trunk or Treat has been moved to the area behind the school in the student parking lot between the West Gym and Sticker Stadium (football practice field). Set-up time begins at 3:45 p.m.

Parks and Rec is sponsoring a costume contest for everyone—wear your costume and trick or treat among the decorated vehicle participants. Prizes will be awarded to trick-or-treaters in six categories and to the top three participants with Trunk or Treat decorated vehicles.
If you would like to be part of Trunk or Treat, please register through the Parks and Rec office at Guernsey-Sunrise Schools.
Registration forms are available at the Parks and Rec office or the Town of Guernsey office.
The annual Halloween Carnival at the school will begin immediately following Trunk or Treat.
The Guernsey Volunteer Fire Department is also planning to hold their Haunted House again this year on October 30 and 31.
It will be held at the Town of Guernsey City Shop by City Hall.
Doors will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. both dates.
