UPTON—Two young people from Guernsey were honored in the 2017 Youth Hunter Education Challenge held at the Upton Gun Club this past summer.
Libby Logan was the Junior Grand Champion and William Knowlton took third place overall.
Thirty-one young people took part in the competition which was divided into three categories—Overall Responsibility, Overall Shooting and Grand Champion.

Logan also finished first in the Overall Responsibility and Knowlton took third in that category as well.
Participants competed in shooting and responsibility competitions including archery, 5-stand shotgun shooting, muzzle loading, .22 rife, orienteering with a compass, wildlife identification, hunter skills trail and a hunter education test.
Wyoming’s two teams and three additional independent competitors represented Wyoming at the National YHEC event held in Raton, NM in late July.
Wyoming’s 11 representatives worked together and were recognized for the Sportsmanship Award.
Logan and Knowlton are students at Guernsey-Sunrise Schools.
