Lady Vikings end net season with regional losses

Posted

WHEATLAND—The Lady Viking volleyball team closed out their 2017 season with a three-game loss to Arvada-Clearmont Friday evening at the Class 1-A Regional in Wheatland.
The Vikes qualified for the regional by taking a must-win match over Chugwater last Monday (October 23).
That put them into a first-round matchup on Friday afternoon with Hulett, the top seed from the Northeast Conference.

Hulett dominated that match, winning in games of 25-10, 25-21 and 25-8.
The loss sent Guernsey-Sunrise into a loser-out match with Arvada-Clearmont later that evening. At times, the Lady Vikes clicked but it was not to be and the Lady Panthers won in three games, 25-14, 25-17 and 25-17.
Hulett and Arvada-Clearmont were also eliminated in their following matches on Saturday. Lingle-Fort Laramie finished with the regional championship, followed by Rock River, Kaycee and Hanna-Elk Mountain. Those four teams moved on to play in the state tournament this weekend in Casper.
The Lady Vikings finish the season with a 6-12 overall record. They will lose senior Madison Evans to graduation.
