Heimbuck to be honored

Posted

GUERNSEY—A community-wide retirement party in honor of former longtime Guernsey resident Bruce Heimbuck will be held Saturday, November 11 between 2 and 5 p.m. at Ben’s Bar/Restaurant in Guernsey.
This will be a catered event with music, presentations, a slideshow and a great opportunity to visit with Bruce and his family.
Bruce most recently retired from the position of Economic Development Coordinator for the Town of Guernsey, a position he accepted following a career in education of over 30 years as principal and superintendent of Guernsey-Sunrise Schools.

He and his wife Gail raised three sons, James. Curtis and Karl, and were involved in many community service organizations and events. He also served in a number of capacities as a longtime member of the Guernsey Presbyterian Church.
Bruce’s work as the first Economic Development Coordinator afforded Guernsey and the surrounding area considerable improvements in housing, infrastructure, business development, recreation and building a stronger partnership with the Wyoming National Guard and the Air Force units at Camp Guernsey.
His vision, passion and ability to find funding for the community resulted in substantial projects such as the building of the new swimming pool and adjoining park, the renovation of Gordon Davis and West Parks, the addition of the Lucindy Rollins Walking Trail, additional improvements at the Industrial Park, the addition of several apartment complexes and homes, downtown development, improvements in utility services, acquisition of land for the Town of Guernsey, and the establishment and growth of community events and celebrations such as July Fourth, Duck Daze, Beer Fest, Winter’s Eve Festival, and the Summer and Winter Concert Series.
He was a tireless worker and believed in Guernsey’s ability to be a great place to work, live and play. He promoted the community statewide as a drawing place for visitors from within and out of state.
His work ethic and tenacity for getting things done will long be remembered by everyone who knew him.
Please attend and join in honoring a man who served this community in every way possible and let him know how much his service is appreciated.
