Guard Camp to host ammo amnesty day October 26

Posted

CAMP GUERNSEY JOINT TRAINING CENTER-- Camp Guernsey will hold its annual military ammunition amnesty day Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The program, in accordance with Department of Defense regulations, is designed for the public to turn in military ammunition only. If you have military ammunition and you don’t know what to do with it, now you do.
Maybe your dog found it and brought it home ... it doesn’t matter. There will be no questions asked, and the process is completely anonymous.

Unexploded ordnance can be dangerous and should not be stored at a private residence.
You can bring military munitions to the Camp Guernsey South Pistol Range on South Wyoming Highway, located approximately 3/4 of a mile past the Platte River Bridge. Watch for the signs.
If you feel the ammunition is too dangerous to move, you can call the Camp Guernsey Fire Desk at 307-836-7810, and a team of experts will be glad to help.
Again, there will be no questions asked.
