Special Meeting
January 14, 2020

Present: Mayor Paustian, CM Harris, CM Kelley, CM Whitworth, CM Augustyn
Staff: K. Farmer, Attorney Lent
Mayor Paustian called the meeting to order at 6 pm.
Executive Session: CM Kelley moved to go into executive session to discuss personnel, seconded by CM Harris. Vote taken and motion carried with 5 ayes.
The Council returned to regular session at 6:45 pm. CM Augustyn moved to have Mayor Paustian give Chief VanDam the option to resign or be dismissed by Thursday, January 16, 2020 by 5 pm, seconded by CM Kelley. CM Whitworth asked are we going to work without a Chief or are we going to have an interim Chief appointed? They are going to wait to replace the Chief position and the discussion never took place to dismantle the police department. Vote taken motion carried with 4 ayes and 1 nay by CM Harris.
Adjournment: CM Augustyn moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:12 pm seconded by CM Harris. Vote taken and motion carried with 5 ayes.
