THANKSGIVING’S NOT OVER!

It is hard to believe 2022 is almost over. Thanksgiving has past, but not really because thanksgiving should be in our hearts at all times if we are followers of Christ. For those who are not followers of Christ, things look pretty gloomy. I tell Christians all the time to shut off the news channels and get their news from the only good news which is found in the Bible. We need to be joyful and thank our Lord every day for what He did on the Cross for us and for all the world. Sad to say most of the world has rejected Him, including the U.S.A.

This month we celebrate Christmas or Christ for the masses. This month we should be filled with joy and have our hope anchored in Him. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast…. (Hebrews 6:19a) Our hope is grounded in the Lord’s oath and covenant with mankind. He came as a baby from heaven to earth with the purpose to save all humanity by placing Himself on the cross and taking upon Himself our sin and shame! From that very cross, he cried out, “It is finished!”

We can all walk in the liberty of that truth by choosing to believe in Jesus Christ and what He did at Calvary. The greatest scripture we will ever hear is John 3:16:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

As we prepare for the big dinners or big gift giving, let’s remember it is not our party but Jesus’. Let’s give some thought to what He did for us . . .  and if you do not know Him, think about Christmas without Christ in it. There’d be no everlasting life without Christ!

Let’s think about what is truly important and have a grateful heart of thanksgiving! As we leave 2022, let us purpose in our hearts to go into 2023 FULL OF THE JOY OF THE LORD.
