There have been a lot of quarantine games and trivial gibberish running rampant all over social media. What happened is, the debates that existed in watering holes and family holiday tables didn’t go away, but resurfaced on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, KIK and the rest.

As both sports fanatics and movie buffs, we would like to get you to weigh in on the discussion. Perhaps you are an aficionado.  Perhaps just a sports fan, but we have compiled a list of the top-six sports movies of all time, the top-six fictional movie athletes of all time, and the best actor in a sports movie real or fictitious for each sport.

So, let’s start with that. Here are our picks, please email us as to whether you agree or disagree. If we’ve left any sports out, feel free to add them to the list.

Football – So many choices here, Keanu Reeves in The Replacements comes to mind first, but way back before the internet was the movie Brian’s Song and James Caan played Brian Piccolo and that is the pick.

Track – Alex Kendrick who played coach John Harrison high school coach who only had one athlete go out for the team in the movie Overcomer

Dodgeball – obviously Vince Vaughn as Peter La Fleur in Dodgeball

Tennis – Scarlett Johansson who played Nola Rice in Match Point

Volleyball – Erin Moriarty who played Kelley Fliehler in The Miracle Season

Ping Pong – Obviously it had to be Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump

Rodeo – Luke Perry plays Lane Frost in 8 Seconds

Sportscaster – It has to be Bob Uecker playing Harry Doyle in Major League
