GUERNSEY – Celebration of Life and Funeral Services for Teresa Jane Ibarra, 61, will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church in Guernsey with Father Ray Moss officiating. Interment will be in Hartville Cemetery, Hartville, with a reception following at the Guernsey VFW.

Teresa passed away Monday, Sept. 6, 2021, at the home of Shirley and Tim Morgan in Franktown, Colorado, where she had lived since moving to Colorado for medical treatment in February of 2020. She was surrounded by her immediate family and her hospice care team.

Teresa was born Thursday, October 15, 1959, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Juan Richard and Anna (Medina) Ibarra. She was raised and educated primarily in Westminster, Colorado and graduated from Westminster High School in 1978.

Teresa lived with her parents most of her life and had one son, Travis B. Ibarra. She and her family moved to Benton, Arkansas in 1990, then to Hartville in 1996. In 2006, the family moved to Guernsey, where they remained until her care dictated that they move back to Colorado.

Teresa and her family frequented Wyoming from the time she was born. Numerous relatives lived in the Sunrise/Hartville/Guernsey area, and much time was spent over the years at the family cabin in Newell Bay and on the lake at Guernsey State Park. Teresa loved being a Guernsey-ite, and relished time with family and friends. She worked for the Guernsey Senior Center from 2003-2018 and volunteered for a myriad of activities and organizations throughout the area. Additionally, Teresa was one of the original members of the Guernsey Red Hatters, served as president for several years for Guernsey T.O.P.S. Club, was a member of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Choir and a regular weekly singer at Soto Street Karaoke.

Teresa was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and Wyoming Cowboys, a lover of all genres of music and was an Elvis memorabilia collector. She loved karaoke, puzzles, colored pencil art, baking, and her favorite times revolved around being with family and friends and her dog Mandi.

Teresa is survived by her son Travis B. Ibarra of Denver, her parents, Richard and Anna Ibarra of Franktown, Colorado, her sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Tim Morgan of Franktown, Colorado, her sister and brother-in-law Debbee and Joe CdeBaca of Arvada, Colorado, her nephew Marcos, her great nephews Isaac and Francisco and her great niece, Amiyah. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A reception in Teresa’s honor is being coordinated by Penny Wells of Guernsey. If guests wish, the family is accepting donations, which in turn will be used to purchase needed equipment and supplies for the Guernsey Senior Center in “Memory of Teresa Jane Ibarra”.

The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.
