Snow and wind potential great in impending storm threat

Blizzard Warnings have been expanded to include Platte County and portions of far east Albany County in Wyoming. Blizzard Warnings for Dawes County and northern Sioux County in Nebraska begin at 6 AM MDT Wednesday while the Blizzard Warnings for the remainder of the Nebraska Panhandle and southeastern Wyoming begin at 12 PM MDT Wednesday and are in effect through 3 PM MDT Thursday. Rain showers will develop across the region early this morning before transitioning to snow late morning and into the afternoon. Heavy snow and wind gusts up to 55 MPH possible which would produce areas of blowing snow and reduced visibility. Hazardous travel conditions can be expected so please plan accordingly and avoid any unnecessary travel.
