GUERNSEY – The Guernsey Municipal Swimming Pool will officially be opened beginning tomorrow, June 2 at 10 a.m. with a flurry of activities on tap, set up by the Tri-City Parks and Recreation District.

With warmer weather scheduled by Mother Nature beginning toward the end of the week, the pool will be a welcome sight for the people of Guernsey and especially for those summer breakers who are looking for a fun way to cool off during those warm summer days.

Monday through Friday, the pool will be open for swim lessons from 10 a.m. to noon, lap swim and water aerobics will be held each day from 12-1 p.m., open swim will be from 1-5 p.m., Shiela Galligar Oliver will be leading water aerobics from 5-6 p.m. that features senior-friendly low impact exercises, nightly open swim will be held from 6-8 p.m. and the 8-9:30 p.m. hours can be reserved for pool parties.

Saturdays the pool is reserved for pool parties from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Then from 1-6 p.m., is open swim followed by another round of pool party availability from 6-7:30 p.m.

Sundays the pool party availability is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by open swim from 1-4 p.m.

Swimming lessons are offered by the Tri-City Parks and Recreation District each week from June 28- August 6.

Fees for swimming are: $2 for a daily swim pass for ages 6 and up. Children under 5 can swim for free, and as always, all children under the age of 8 years old will not be admitted into the pool alone.

Passes, lessons and party rates are:  $25 – Senior/Lap/Aerobics. $50 for an individual summer pass. $150 for a family summer pass. $20 per week for swim lessons. $100 for a 90-minute pool party.
