Funeral services for William Anthony Garcia, 63, were held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Our Saviour Episcopal Church in Hartville, Wyoming with Reverend Rex Martin officiating.
William Garcia passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 near Douglas, Wyoming with a long battle of cancer.
Bill was born Thursday, May 6, 1954 in Torrington, Wyoming the son of Fred Edward and Twylah Glee (Sudbury) Garcia.
He grew up spending time between Colorado and Wyoming. He married and had three children, TK, Tony, and Stephanie. Bill chose the profession of welding and mastered the art of metal transformation. There was nothing he could not do with once an idea set in mind. Freedom and the outdoors captured his soul. Bill was a true free-spirit. He taught his boys to be men, and inspired true passion in his daughter. He was grounded in who he was, not persuaded by flighty whims of lesser immature ideals. A simple life, taking care of those in need, and always speaking the truth, no matter how harsh, was the code that he lived by. In the end, his true friend and confidant, his sister Deborah, was by his side. No man can ask for more than what Bill had. That is to be true to one’s self, and be true to that which one knows to be right. Bob was an absolute one of a kind. He will be missed!
William was survived by his children, Fred (Hannah) Garcia II of Montana, Anthony (Carla) Garcia of North Carolina, and Stephanie (Phillip) McDowell of Colorado; sister, Deborah (Kim) Kimura of Wheatland, Wyoming; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
A memorial to the Marge Cares Foundation, PO Box 98, Glendo, WY 82213 would be appreciated by the family.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland was in charge of the arrangements.
