A memorial service for Manuel Otero, 25, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 24, 2018 in the Guernsey-Sunrise High School West Gym in Guernsey, WY.  There will be a reception held at Ben’s Bar following the service.  He will be laid to rest in the Hartville Cemetery.    

Manuel Wayne Otero passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 as the result of a motor vehicle accident near Powder River, WY. 

Manuel was born March 17, 1993 in Torrington, WY, the son of the late Tommy Otero and Brinda Lorraine Gonzalez. 

He was known for his unique style, kind heart and love for his friends and family.  He was an avid fisherman from a very young age.  He had a knack for looking on the bright side of things and always had something good to say about others.  Manuel was a hard worker, very generous and always looking for ways to bring joy to his life and the lives of others.  He enjoyed attending sporting events, concerts and adding to his adored sneaker collection.    

Manuel is survived by his mom, Belinda Leah Otero of Guernsey; siblings Eric Otero of Wheatland; Jenna (Luke) Zapf of Guernsey; Tommy Joe Otero of Brighton, CO; Michael (Karen Garcia) Otero of Ashton, ID; Cassandra (Kody) Koozer of Alliance, NE; and Ashley Otero of Brighton, CO. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Otero and mother Brinda Gonzalez; paternal grandparents Manuel and Esther Otero of Hartville, WY; and maternal grandmother, Linda Siebert of Trona, CA. 

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Eric Otero, Tommy Joe Otero, Michael Otero, Taylor Girard, Jonah Girard, Lukas Osmera, Jaydin Shipp, Troy Hunt and Nathaniel Urbanek. 

A “Manuel Otero Memorial Fund” has been established at Oregon Trail Bank, P.O. Box 219, Guernsey, WY, 82214.

The family would like to thank everyone for their sympathy and support during this time of bereavement.
