GUERNSEY, WYOMING...........Funeral services for Josephine A. Haynes, 96, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the Guernsey Presbyterian Church with Pastor Bill Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Prairie Rest Cemetery. Josephine died October 14, 2019 at Goshen Healthcare Community.
Josephine was born August 13, 1923 in Lusk, Wyoming, the daughter of Ray and Eunice (Sater) Brown. She grew up in the Torrington, Wyoming area and received her education there. She married Delbert Haynes on September 2, 1939 in Torrington. They later moved to Guernsey, Wyoming to raise their family. In addition to being a homemaker she worked briefly at the school and later at the senior friendship center.
She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, gardening flowers and fishing. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the church. Josephine is survived by two daughters, LaQuetta Oliver of Guernsey, Wyoming and Janeen (Rudy) Oliver of Douglas, Wyoming; a son, Odell (Beverley) Haynes of Guernsey; a brother, Jim (Dorothy) Brown of Torrington, Wyoming; two sisters, Audrey Brown of Guernsey and Karen Ross of Torrington; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Bud Brown and Ray Brown; and a sister Joan Milnes.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Guernsey VFW Auxiliary. The casket will be open prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com.
