.Services for Linda Ruth Garrard Carlson, 71, were held Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the VFW Post 4471 in Guernsey An additional service was held at the Tate Mortuary in Tooele, UT on Friday, June 2, 2017. Burial followed at the Lake Point, UT cemetery.
Linda passed away on May 28, 2017 in Casper, WY, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Salt Lake City, UT January 29, 1946 to Harold and Myra Garrard.
She graduated from Tooele High School in 1964 and attended college.
She worked a variety of jobs over several decades, always inspiring a strong work ethic and a sense of pride in a job well-done.
Growing up, she loved fishing trips to Yellowstone and Strawberry Lake. She also enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and designing her own clothes which her mother made for her.
Linda had four beautiful children; daughter Leora Deann (Thomas) Garringer, son Richard Bryant Howard, daughter Katherine Myra (Juan) Sierra (née Atkinson), and daughter Denise Marie (David) Osterman (née Buzzard). She was a mom of four but a mother to many.
In the summer of 1984, Linda met and fell in love with Ralph J. Carlson and moved to Guernsey, WY. She was very involved with his National Guard functions. She loved to watch her children’s band and choir concerts, plays, sports and any extra-curricular they were in.
She was very proud of her children and will be remembered for her radiant smile, warm personality and zest for life.
She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was a tolerant and non-judgmental person who loved everyone.
She is survived by her boyfriend of 20 years, Ted Herrera of Guernsey; brother Leslie (Janet) Garrard of Lake Point, UT; children Rick, Kathy and Denise; grandchildren Joshua (Katrina) Garringer, Lynda (Jesse) Rinker, Jessica (Dustin) Marchington, D’ana Osterman, Kendra Sierra, Victoria Sierra, Dustin Osterman; great-grandchildren Damien Braun, Malichi Rinker, Xzandrea Rinker, J J Rinker, Justin Stansfield, Jacob Hofmann, Kyler Garringer, Kaiden Garringer, Destanie Marchington, Katie Marchington, and Thomas Marchington.
She was preceded in death by father Harold Edwin Garrard, mother Myra Ruth Garrard (neé Vorwaller), brothers Duane Garrard and Richard Garrard, daughter Leora Garringer, and husband Ralph (Butch) Carlson.
