MIDWEST—The Lady Vikings made the miles count last Friday as they topped the Lady Oilers at Midwest 47-26.
Junior forward Whitney Martin led the Vikings with 16 points, seven rebounds, three steals and an assist to lead the Lady Vikes.
Junior guard Blake Rose added 11 points and had four rebounds and two steals.
Junior forward Trinity Ayers also hit double figures as she canned 10 points and had 10 rebounds, an assist and a pair of steals.
Senior guard Lakin Reichert added three points and had four rebounds, five steals and a pair of assists.
Junior guard Kacey McCoid put in two points and had a rebound and a steal.
Freshman guard Chloe Heer chipped in two points and snagged three rebounds and two steals.
The Lady Vikes hit 17 of 46 from two-point range and two of 16 from the arc. They shot five of 18 from the stripe and took down 34 rebounds. They committed 23 turnovers and 20 fouls.
This week the Lady Vikes will host Rock River for varsity-only games. The Lady Vikes will play at 4 p.m.
The junior varsity team fell to the Lusk JV team 49-35. Whitney Martin notched a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. She also had three steals.
Blake Rose and Lakin Reichert each had nine points. Reichert had six rebounds and three steals; Rose had four rebounds, an assist and a steal.
Kacey McCoid added four points and had five rebounds.
Trinity Ayers pitched in two points and had three rebounds.
On Saturday, they will make the road trip to Hulett to face the Lady Red Devils. Junior varsity teams play at 1 p.m. followed by the varsity girls a 2:30 p.m. and the varsity boys at 4 p.m.
