WHEATLAND—The Guernsey-Sunrise Viking track team scored an overall combined total of 56 points to finish sixth of seven teams competing at the Wheatland Invitational meet last Thursday. The girls team accounted for 40 of those points and the boys pitched in 16.
Senior twins Bailey and Whitney Martin continue to place well in their events. Bailey claimed second in the Discus with a mark of 84-05 and fourth in the Shot Put at the 28-09 mark. First place in both the Discus and Shot Put went to Allyson Fertig of Douglas who threw 105-00 in the Discus and 36-10 in the Shot Put.
Whitney Martin took third in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 28.07 and fourth in the 100 Meter Dash, clocking 14.02. Kamdynn Townsend finished first in the 200 with a time of 27.32 and Rachel King of Douglas took first in the 100 Meter Dash, clocking 13.46.
Macy Mote took fifth in the Shot Put at 28-11.
McKenzie Romero finished third in the 3200 Meter Run (15:26.56) and sixth in the 1600 Meter Run in 6:36.27. First place in the 3200 went to Sydney Thorvaldson of Rawlins who turned in a time of 10:48.00 and 5:01.42 in the 1600 Meter Run.
The boys’ team pitched in points with Justin Malcom’s third place finish in the Triple Jump with a mark of 36-06.50. Jayden Archuleta of Douglas took first with a mark of 34-04.50. Brock Hohnholt placed seventh with a mark of 34-05.75.
Austin Albrecht finished eighth in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 12.52. First went to Larezo Ebell of Rawlins who clocked 11.44.
Malcom finished sixth in the High Jump, clearing 5-6. Wheatland’s Dylan Pearson cleared 6-4 to win the event.
Brandon Miller finished fifth in the 3200 Meter Run with a time of 12:42.84. First went to Micha Zeller of Laramie with a time of 10:32.01.
