GUERNSEY—The Lady Vikings won their home opening volleyball game last Tuesday, taking Midwest to five games before declaring their first victory of the season.
The Lady Vikes jumped out to a 2-0 advantage, winning the first two games 27-25 and 25-23, but dropped the next two (19-25, 24-26), forcing the fifth game. Despite the narrow margin on the first four games, the Vikings sailed away with the win, topping the Lady Oilers 15-4.
On Friday, the Lady Vikes found themselves in a tough match with Lusk, falling in three games. The Lady Tigers won in games of 25-5, 25-12 and 25-19.
This week, the junior varsity will play at Glendo tonight (Tuesday) at 5:30 p.m. On Friday, the team heads to Edgemont, South Dakota for matches at 5 and 6 p.m.
The Lady Vikes will be back at home to host Hanna-Elk Mountain with games set for 1 and 2 p.m.
