Lady Vikings get first win of season over Midwest

GUERNSEY—The Lady Vikings won their home opening volleyball game last Tuesday, taking Midwest to five games before declaring their first victory of the season.

The Lady Vikes jumped out to a 2-0 advantage, winning the first two games 27-25 and 25-23, but dropped the next two (19-25, 24-26), forcing the fifth game.  Despite the narrow margin on the first four games, the Vikings sailed away with the win, topping the Lady Oilers 15-4.

On Friday, the Lady Vikes found themselves in a tough match with Lusk, falling in three games.  The Lady Tigers won in games of 25-5, 25-12 and 25-19.

This week, the junior varsity will play at Glendo tonight (Tuesday) at 5:30 p.m.  On Friday, the team heads to Edgemont, South Dakota for matches at 5 and 6 p.m.

The Lady Vikes will be back at home to host Hanna-Elk Mountain with games set for 1 and 2 p.m.
