WHEATLAND--The Guernsey-Sunrise Lady Vikings secured their spot in this weekend’s Class 1A East Regional volleyball tournament in Wheatland with a three-game win over Glendo in Monday night’s play-in qualifier match.
The Lady Vikes earned their way into the regional in games of 25-15, 25-21 and 25-12.
In overall stats for the match, Jordan Sasso had nine kills and teammates Alexis Elmore and Mickayla VanNatter each added four to help put away the Lady Eagles.
Macy Mote was on fire at the service line, landing 21 of 22 including eight aces. She served 21 points in the match. Chloe Heer was good on 12 of her 13 serves and had eight digs.
Macoyia Stoneking (10) and VanNatter (9) combined for 19 assists.
The win puts the Southeast Conference Lady Vikings (5-20) up against Kaycee (21-8-2) the top seed from the Northeast Conference. Games begin at noon on Friday, November 1 at Wheatland High School. Ticket prices are: Session i: Adults-$4, Students-$3; Session II: Adults-$6, Students-$4; All Session Pass: Adults-$9, Students-$6.
