GUERNSEY—Plans are well underway for this year’s Halloween activities in Guernsey. Treat Street will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at participating businesses on Wednesday, October 31.
Businesses along Whalen (Highway 26) and Wyoming Ave. open their doors to trick-or-treaters during daylight hours. Participating merchants will have a special sign designating their business as part of Treat Street. Businesses who wish to participate should contact Craig Frederick at Register Cliff Pharmacy (836-9270) by October 24th. Participating businesses will receive a window sign to identify their business as a place for trick-or-treaters to stop.
Guernsey Economic Development is also sponsoring a contest for business owners who dress up for the event. A traveling trophy will be awarded to the favorite participating business.
As part of Treat Street, Trunk or Treat was added several years ago for anyone who would like to decorate their vehicle and hand out treats. Trunk or Treat participants park along Sunrise Street between the visitor’s center and the Guernsey Senior Center. Prizes are also awarded for the best decorated trunks.
For further information, contact Craig Frederick at 836-9270.
The Lions Club will once again host the school Halloween Carnival and the Guernsey Volunteer Fire Department is also planning to host their haunted house again this year.
