WHEATLAND – Coming up February 19 at the Agriplex in the Platte County Fairgrounds, the Wheatland Kiwanis Club and the Platte County Hospital will be co-hosting a Casino Night.
The doors for the event will open at 6:30 p.m. and the gambling will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tickets cost $40 per person and are available from Platte Valley Bank and First State Bank.
Kit Armour, the current President of the Wheatland Kiwanis Club, was reached out to via email regarding the event. According to her, a variety of events will be held during the night.
“Professional dealers will provide all your gambling fun with Craps, Texas hold 'em, Blackjack, and Roulette,” said Armour. “There will also be goldfish races where attendees can purchase and race their own goldfish.”
In addition to the games, a silent auction showcasing creations from local artists and gift certificates from local service providers will be held.
The gambling is planned to on until 10:00 p.m. At 10:30, a raffle will begin. Armour said that attendees will earn tickets for the raffle by participating in the silent auction, the goldfish races, and the games.
Buying a ticket to the Casino Night will give the holder one drink at a Guadalajara’s sponsored cash bar, one raffle ticket, and $200 for gambling. Appetizers will be provided by Escape Event Planning.
“Anyone who enjoys themselves too much, can spend the night at Torchlite Best Western in Wheatland, our lodging sponsor, for a discounted rate,” said Armour.
Armour described the Casino Night as a “not to miss event,” and hopes it will become a recurring affair.
“It is the first year for these organizations to host a Casino Night and we hope it will become an annual event,” said Armour.
