GUERNSEY – Banner Capital, located on the corner of 17 th street and Highway 26 in Guernsey hosted a community cookout for their annual Customer Appreciation Day June 13.
The bank had a tent and cooktop, coolers full of cool water, and they were serving all-beef hotdogs on a bun, chips, watermelon and cookies for the many community members who stopped by to say “hi,” in the 100-degree temperatures. There was a portion of the street blocked off and tables set out for people to eat and visit.
“We talk about it as a bank through all the locations,” Banner Capital Bank President Curtis McCabe said. “We chose today because, what a beautiful day to do one. It’s kind of in between the Platte County Fair and the Fourth of July so this is perfect.”
McCabe said that they were anticipating between 100-125 that would come to the barbecue.
“The bank is doing very well,” McCabe said. “We’re thankful for the customers and the business.”
